Bruce Grey Child and Family Services Has Officially Moved!!
Bruce Grey Child and Family Services and Amico Properties will host a “Doors Open” event on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in order for the community to see the transformation of this beloved facility.
After a 10 year search for new office space, Bruce Grey Child and Family Services finally moved into its new building located at 640 – 2nd Avenue East during the holiday season. The former Family Y building has been completely renovated to bring together approximately 90 staff who were scattered in five different locations across Owen Sound.
“Amico Properties Inc. has done an extraordinary job of creating a welcoming space that will see our staff work out of the same building for the first time in many, many years”, said Phyllis Lovell, Executive Director of Bruce Grey Child and Family Services. “They heard what we needed, and really came through for us. After seeing what they had accomplished for the Family Health Team, we knew that they would do a terrific job of providing us with a space that we would be very proud to call home.”
Residents of Owen Sound saw construction crews and trades around the former Family Y for many months. After completely gutting the interior space, removing the pool and converting the gymnasium to offices, the building offers 23,000 square feet of new and efficient space. The building has had a rich history of providing service to the Owen Sound Grey Bruce community and will now continue to do so in a new capacity.
